Stopping for Gas

Maxfield Baker LMT delivers the massage to you, helping you reconnect to your body without burning any more of your gas.

Cars have it easy, because we can see when their having issues and gauge when we might need to take them in for maintenance or stop for gas. Similarly though, our bodies need recharging, and sometimes our sleep at night just isn’t enough. The body has a lot of mechanisms to alert us of our issues, but just as many to help us power through them. Massage helps the body reconnect, recharge, and relax by tapping into your nervous system, and working through your muscle tension.

Whether it’s a chronic or new pain, the body has both a chemical and electrical means to bring awareness, but then disconnect if our attention is needed elsewhere. After most sessions I hear “wow, I didn’t know I was sore there” which is the perfect example of our brain doing what is necessary to get us through the day. However, just because our awareness is elsewhere, doesn’t mean that we’re in the clear; you wouldn’t skip getting gas because you don’t have time. Instead you realize that not fueling up will cost you more time in the end.

When we run out of gas our stress levels increase, our muscles tighten, and we lose sleep; the thing we mostly rely on to recharge us! Don’t let your brain block out the pain. Engage your body, learn what’s wrong, and get a massage to help you refuel. Even better, when you book with me, you don’t even burn real gas to relax, because I come to you 512-393-4287!

I graduated Texas State University with a double major in Anthropology and Political Science with an interest in local politics. Currently I am an active member of the San Marcos community, and became a licensed massage therapist to further that involvement. I attended the Lauterstein-Conway School of Massage in Austin, Texas, completed their 500 hour program, and became licensed as of September 2017. While I am a relatively new therapist, clients have suggested I deliver a world class massage, and I look forward to helping you with your relaxation or pain needs.
